Bang - When Guns and Cars Temporarily Lift Low Self Esteem.
A psychological identity relates to self-image (a person's mental model of him or herself), self-esteem and individuality.
For those of us who find trophy hunting abhorrent, it is difficult to understand the reasons for it.
Do trophy hunters generally have low self esteem and view guns as a transient extension of their identity..... and does hunting - conquering, possessing and killing a beautiful innocent animal - give the hunter a sense of accomplishment?
PARENTING IN SOUTH AFRICA:
The photo above was published online by a South African "sport hunting" family. The baboon in the photo is dressed in clothing, in an attempt to shred him of all dignity and reverence.
Baboons get naturally close to humans because they consider them to be another monkey species with whom they compete for resources as opposed to a predator who kills for food.
Hunting baboons is therefore akin to canned hunting and requires no challenge at all.
What then is the child smiling about?
